TRIP DATES & FARES

RAFT

the canyon’s unparalleled whitewater

There are incredible contrasts in Grand Canyon. Plow through epic rapids like Hance, Hermit, Crystal, and Lava for an exhilarating ride. Then experience its peacefulness—gliding quietly on the river, under majestic sentinels of sheer rock walls towering a mile high overhead.

Our specially designed motorized rafts offer convenient storage, superior seating options and the ability to move around safely. Our Honda 4-stroke engines limit both noise and emissions.

Canyoneers oar trips include both self bailing rafts and the historic Sandra, a wooden cataract boat built in 1937 by Norm Nevills. READ MORE

HIKE

hidden side canyon gems that are
accessible only from the river

Each hike is unique in its adventure offerings: one may lead you to ancient archeological sites and the next may take you through rock narrows to swimming holes and waterfalls. Some hikes begin at camp, others involve boating to reach the hiking area.

Hikes vary in length and level of difficulty. Many are not on trails, some are up creek beds and others meander over the desert floor. Most go steeply uphill from the river corridor over uneven and often difficult terrain, including scrambling on rocks, which may require guide assistance. To truly enjoy hiking in Grand Canyon on a Canyoneers trip, you’ll need to be in good to excellent physical condition. However, you can take a slower pace if needed, or choose to skip the hike and remain with a guide at the boats.

If you are doing and Upper Canyon or Lower Canyon trip, you have have a strenuous hike either out or into the canyon. READ MORE

LEARN

about the canyon’s natural
and human history

Our guides become guides because they love and cherish Grand Canyon and life on the river. Many have backgrounds in geology, botany, natural and cultural history, and ecology and are passionate about sharing their knowledge, and re-telling the many stories that make Grand Canyon both grand and mysterious. All of us at Canyoneers are devoted to protecting one of the world’s greatest treasures and teaching passengers about its many wonders to help with that protection. From understanding its renowned geologic features to getting to know its equally colorful characters, we take pride in offering you our knowledge so you’ll leave with greater respect and reverence for this multi-faceted landscape.

CAMP

& dine by the rivers edge

When you reach your camp site in the afternoon, the entire group works together with the guides to unload the boats and set up camp before individuals go off to seek their ideal sleep site. Most campsites are spacious, soft, beautiful beaches with ample potential sleep spots.

We provide all the camping and rafting equipment you’ll need: large dry bag for your clothing, mini day dry bag for clothing layers needed throughout the day, ammo can for your toiletries, camp chair, sleeping bag, deluxe sleeping pad, tarp, tent, coffee mug, one river guide book per family and life jacket.

At meal time, you will be impressed by our crew’s expertise in serving up tasty, nutritious meals daily at our favorite outdoor kitchen spots—spectacular scenery included!

The inner canyon is an arid desert environment so mosquitoes and other flying insects are usually not a problem, but there are some not-so-nice critters and insects that do live in the canyon, and we’ll explain how to stay away from them to stay safe while you are on your trip. READ MORE

TESTIMONIALS

“My second trip after a thirty year wait: What a unique place and concentration of natural beauty. Enjoyed the entertaining stories, great food, fun river companions and professional guides/crew. Nice side trips and hikes — informative trail and river history by pilots and guides. Will recommend for our kids and grandkids. Keep up the preservation efforts and economical access opportunity. P.S. Special thanks to Kolby, Jake, Heidi, and Brandon.”

~ Rob Strong, Full Grand Canyon motorized river trip

“We just concluded our trip on Saturday. It was one of the great experiences of my life. Caroline, Jake and Rachel did an extraordinary job and are consummate professionals. I have been in the Canyon 15 times since 1983, and this was clearly the most memorable and most enjoyable, and I will never forget it. Thank you for a superb trip.”

~ Tod Schleier, Full Grand Canyon motorized river trip

“I can hardly express my total satisfaction with my Grand Canyon experience on the Colorado! Your professional skill, and attitude made me feel so safe, and your teamwork with Jake, and Mark just added so much. I haven’t stopped raving about all of you and Canyoneers. I hope I will have the chance to come back to the Canyon again.”

“Thank you so much for providing a wonderful trip. The information provided regarding what supplies to bring was very helpful. The trip was well organized and expertly staffed. It is easy to see why Canyoneers, Inc. is the oldest and most respected company. The staff is friendly, helpful, professional and knowledgeable.”

~ Laurie & John Stockman, Full Grand Canyon motorized river trip

“Thanks for making this a truly unforgettable trip. My dad, brother and I could not have picked a better way to spend a week together. I will look forward to taking my two boys on this trip. P.S. Dave ‘the hiking guy’ was fantastic.”

~ Dave Swartz, Full Grand Canyon motorized river trip

“Canyoneers is a company with a great reputation of caring, and for providing a quality experience. The legacy of this company was with us each day by having the famous Nevills Cataract boat along on the trip. The quality of interpretation of the history and natural history of the canyon was superb. As you know, we‘re not strangers to the canyon, or a trip down the river. However, I know we can both safely say that of all the trips we have taken down the river, this was the most enjoyable and rewarding.”
